APRIL is an international platform practicing architecture, urbanism, strategic planning and research.

The studio, based in Milan, is structured into a professional architecture firm and a research-based company providing consultancy in the fields of design, media installations, video productions and cultural analysis.

Established in 2001 and formed by a group of international professionals, APRIL can develop advanced projects and realize complex ideas through a simultaneous engagement in both, practice and research.

APRIL employs a staff of various nationalities and expertise.

Architects, industrial and graphic designers, researchers, video makers and economists work in close collaboration, and all experts are  involved from the very beginning of the design process.

APRIL’s research-based work aims to feed architecture with intelligence gleaned from this array of disciplines.

APRIL builds according to the highest environmental and sustainability standards, such as the BREEAM – BRE Environmental Assessment Method – the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings.

Francesco Tiribelli - Director, Architect (MArch AA)

Francesco is an Italian architect . After completing his studies at the Architectural University of Venice (IUAV), Arch. Tiribelli was awarded a MArch. at the Architectural Association of London (DRL Programme). From 2000 to 2002 he worked at OMA in Rotterdam, the research arm of Rem Koolhaas’s OMA, with which he continues to collaborate. Francesco Tiribelli is the founder of APRIL.

Alessandro is Italian. He took his degree at the Architectural University of Florence. Among other experiences in the field of architecture and media design, in 1999 he moves to the US where he collaborates with LOTEK Architecture Firm. In 2004 he had a studying experience at the MIT, Boston MA, in the context of House_n (The MIT home of the future). He joined APRIL in 2004.
