Competition entry for the "International Competition for the redevelopment of the Rock Island pier in Rimini".
The tip of the pier has become an icon, signifying the vanishing point of Rimini that stretches from the sea.
At least twenty years Rock Island is beacon of humid summer nights, the last safe outpost.
This is the atmosphere in which Fellini had seduced the whole world, with the “Vitelloni” at the end of the pier.
The proposal is developed around the analogy of a large dock that comes alive at the end of the sea, rising spiral below it, the volumes and masses recall translucent vessels stranded on the rocks and shovel.

Generated and guided by the artist, Remo Salvadori, coordinated by the architect Francesco Tiribelli, founder of APRIL, the project aims at defining new ways to approach contemporary art-making through various forms of collective expression. The project which involved 21 young artists of diverse extraction, resulted in the transformation of some of the rooms of San Quirico d'Orcia's Palazzo Chigi, into environments for the permanent works created there.
