Together with Worldwide Retail Store S.L., APRIL developed the objectives, theoretical foundations and planning methodology for the National Geographic Global Store System: an architectural retail system created to represent National Geographic in the world through a network of more than 200 structures differing in scale and typology. Developed over a period of more than 3 years of research and planning, the National Geographic Store System, in 2005, took on a theoretical form by way of extensive research documentation that was to become the foundation on which to build the actual architectural projects. In 2008 this system became reality with the opening of the first flagship stores in London and Singapore.
